Data Deletion Instructions

HudgeSoft Ltd. built Baby Sign (Android) and Baby Sign Companion (iOS) as commercial apps. This page explains how you can delete data associated with your use of our apps, including data stored on your device and data processed by third-party services we use (such as Meta App Events).

For broader information about how we handle data, please also see our Privacy Policy.

What data do we store?

We aim to collect and store as little personal information as possible:

  • No accounts / no login: the apps do not require you to create an account.
  • No Hudgesoft servers for user data: we do not run user profiles or store your personal details on our own backend servers.
  • On-device app data: the app may store preferences, favourites, and learning/progress data locally on your device.
  • Third-party event data: if you installed the app via Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising or if Meta App Events are enabled, Meta may receive limited event data (such as install / app open) and basic device information to provide aggregated analytics.

What we can delete (and what we cannot)

Data stored on your device: you can delete this yourself immediately by clearing storage or uninstalling the app (see sections 1–2 below).

Data processed by Meta: Meta controls data stored on Meta’s systems. We do not have direct access to delete Meta’s internal records ourselves. However, you can manage or request deletion using Meta’s own settings/tools (see section 3), and you can contact us if you would like help finding the right steps.

1) Delete data stored inside the app (recommended first step)

If you want to remove your learning/progress information and settings without uninstalling, use the in-app reset/clear options (where available). This removes data stored locally by the app on your device.

If you cannot find a reset option, you can always remove all app data using the device-level steps below.

2) Delete all app data from your device

Android

  • Uninstall the app, or
  • Go to Settings → Apps → Baby Sign → Storage and choose Clear storage (and optionally Clear cache).

iOS

  • Delete the app to remove its local data from your device.

3) Delete or manage data processed by Meta (Facebook/Instagram)

We use Meta (Facebook) App Events to measure installs and basic app activity (for example, app opens) and to understand whether adverts on Meta platforms lead to installs or usage. Meta processes this information on its own systems and provides us with aggregated reporting.

If you want to remove or manage Meta’s records related to your activity, you can do so via your Meta/Facebook settings. The exact menu names can change over time, but the usual routes include:

  • Remove the app connection via Facebook/Meta “Apps and websites” settings.
  • Manage or clear Off-Facebook Activity (sometimes called “Your activity off Meta technologies”).

Meta provides a “User Data Deletion” mechanism for apps. We are not implementing the automatic callback endpoint for this app. Instead, we provide these instructions and can help you find the appropriate Meta settings if needed.

4) Request deletion / contact us

If you would like us to help you delete data related to your use of the app, please contact us at: [email protected]

We aim to respond to data deletion requests within 30 days. (In many cases, because we do not operate user accounts or store personal profiles on our own servers, there may be little or no directly-identifiable data we can delete.)

To help us respond quickly, please include:

  • Which app you use: Baby Sign (Android) or Baby Sign Companion (iOS)
  • Your approximate install date (if you know it)
  • Your country/region
  • What you want deleted (e.g., local progress, or help with Meta App Events data)
  • Your app version (optional but helpful)

Where deletion relates to third-party processing (for example Meta), we will explain the steps available and assist you as best we can, but the retention/deletion timeline is ultimately controlled by the third party.

How long does deletion take?

On-device data: deletion is immediate when you clear storage or uninstall.
Third-party data: deletion timelines are controlled by the third party (such as Meta) and may take time to propagate.

Changes to these instructions

We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in the app or third-party services. Please check back occasionally.
